Thank you for your interest in an internship at World Relief Modesto! Internships at World Relief prepare students and recent graduates for cross-cultural service by immersing them in the fields of refugee and immigrant services. Our interns have the opportunity to gain professional casework and operations skills, build meaningful relationships, and learn about local and global immigration issues, both through direct service to refugees and immigrants as well as trainings, debriefing sessions and personal reflection.

World Relief Modesto offers ongoing internship opportunities in the following areas:

  1. Resettlement Services Internship

  2.  Immigration and Legal Services Assistant

  3. Volunteer Mobilization

  4. Project Based Internships (these require fewer hours)

To apply for an internship, please submit:

  3. A 1-2 page detailed cover letter (attach it to the online application or email it to modestovolunteer@wr.org).

Your cover letter should address the following:

  1. Why do you want to pursue an internship at World Relief Modesto?

  2. Why you are interested in these particular internship position(s)?

  3. What skills and experience do you bring to this position(s)?

  4. What do you hope to learn through this experience?

  5. .What dates and times are you available? How many weeks?

  6. If you are completing this internship for university credit, what other requirements do you (as the intern) or World Relief staff (as the supervisor or placement agency) need to fulfill during your time as an intern?

Please note that all internship offers are unpaid and contingent upon passing a Criminal Background Check. There is limited availability for each semester.

Fall (Aug-Dec) Spring (Jan-April) Summer (May-July) with some flexibility for project-based internships.
